Do you think one of your top resolution for year 2015 is reviving bonds with Parents, Childrens and Friends ? Offcourse you love your Parents or Children - that's a given. But sometime maintaining the bond is challenging due to our busy lifestyle. How does one enrich the bond between father and son, or mother and daughter or with old buddies from work? Taking a vacation together is a great way to do that. Spend time together for great vacation memories. ...

One of the great bonding destinations is Thengapattinam beach in Kerala. When you hink beaches in God’s own Country, two names that jostle for space in your mind are a)Varkala and b) Kovalam.

However, with a coastline about 80 km long, there are lesser known spots and far less crowded seaside hangouts along this stretch of India’s western coast, and several more just beyond. So read on - unless you are one of those seasonal travellers who believe in rushing from one To-Be-Logged-And-TickedOff-My-List attraction to the next.

Thengapattinam, 45 km south of Thiruvananthapuram city, is in the Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu. Tucked well away from the beaten track, here’s a chance for you to have the sand and sea all to you, family and friends. Walk together along an empty stretch, wiggling your toes in the broad sandy expanse or letting the waves lap at your feet along the shallow coast. Play volleyball on the beach. Watch the spectacular sunset. Further north, get ready to encounter the vista of hundreds of fishing boats being readied for the next catch, and thelabours of ongoing efforts to protect the shoreline. At low tide, you can walk across a short basin to reach the breakwater and stroll along, surrounded by water expanses on three sides.

The backwater and the fortifying armours serve as reminders to visitors that this part of the beach is an exclusive fishing harbour. And that’s also excellent reason to ensure that visitors leave only footprints and take away sights of the blue sea, the green palms and the horizon yonder!
