Detail Itinerary

  • Calling the Coffee Lover

During morning hours, from Bangalore proceed on a beautiful drive to the coffee land of India - Coorg. We will stop for lunch on the way.

In the afternoon, we will reach Golden Temple of Namdroling monastery. Nestled amidst the sandal groves, Namdroling was established by His Holiness Pema Norbu Rinpoche when he came to India from Tibet with some monks. At that time he had only 300 rupees in his hands and with the help of other monks he laid the foundation stone of this monastery. His Holiness the Dalai Lama sanctified the spot and named it "Namdroling Monastery." Today, the monastery is the home of 3000 Tibetan monks and nuns, settled in India and the largest Buddhist center, outside Dharmashala, in India.

We shall proceed to the interior of Coorg and closer we reach Coorg, you will feel the waft of coffee on the cool breeze as the Western Ghats starts. After leaving the highway and a little bumpy ride through the unpaved road of coffee plantation, we will reach the beautiful private home of a coffee planter.

Enjoy your time at leisure and a delicious spread of home-made dinner and later you can sleep gently in this tranquil land to gear up for the next day.

  • Temples of Coffee land

Wake up with fresh air filled with the aroma of coffee with cool foggy breeze then you can take a morning walk inside the coffee plantation. Explore the variety & of Coffee, Black paper & Cardamom. See how the red coffee cherries are turned into beans and processed to make your favorite cup of coffee. Take your binoculars and camera to look out for White eye, Scarlet Minivet or Malabar hornbill in the canopy of tall trees amidst coffee plants.

After delicious breakfast, we will leave for Talakaveri - the origin of river Kaveri on the eastern slopes of Brahmagiri peak at 1350 metres altitude near to Bhagamandala. An enclosure around the spring called Gundige is connected to a small pond beside. On the way to Talakaveri we will enjoy the eminence and beauty of Bhagandeshwara Temple.

In the afternoon after lunch head for sightseeing to Abbey Falls, a breathtaking waterfall, which could be seen from a hanging bridge. From there we proceed to visit Madikeri Fort which was initially built as a mud fort by Mudduraja in 17th century, eventually rebuilt in granite by Tipu Sultan. On Evening we will go for Omkareshwar Temple to see the Aarti of Lord Shiva inside a Temple which looks like a Muslim Dargah.

What do our members say

  • V Sathyamurthy Coorg was my first trip with 50+ Voyagers and it went off in the most pleasant and smooth manner. The accommodation was the best one could imagine – nice cottages among a 250 – acres of coffee estate, where nature showed its splendor. The food at the place was excellent - we got the best comforts and different cuisines in the cottages. Being the senior most, I was blessed with more attention. The AC coach was perfectly comfortable and the driver with excellent manners. I would say that '50+ Voyagers' is the ideal organization to look for those who have crossed 50. The service rendered by them is superb.
  • Jayachandran Menon We had the pleasure of travelling in the goup travel organised by 50+ It was to Hampi,Badami,Pattadakkal,Aihole etcThe travel to and fro was very comfortable. Similarly the accommodation at Hospet was excellent,so also the food. The sight seeing, the vehicles, the guides etc were of the best nature. The guides were well versed in the subject, well informed .We fully enjoyed the trip. This was all due to the sincere work done by Ms.Sangitha and also by Ms.Shubhalakshmy. The very personal care taken by these very young leaders is noteworthy. We never felt any deficiency during the entire travel period, thanks to Ms.Sangitha and her organisational skills. We wish them all the best
  • Usha Archana This club gave me one of my best holidays with the recent Rajasthan Trip. It was a great experience traveling with people of ages 52 - 82, who came from different corners of India. Most of us were meeting each other for the first time in our lives, yet, by the end of the tour, it felt like we were all from one family. The club offers a wonderful opportunity for like-minded senior citizens to holiday together safely, comfortably and enjoyably at a reasonable cost!
