Overview
Intricate and visually stunning, Pichwai painting originated over 400 years ago, in the town of Nathdwara near Udaipur, Rajasthan to depict tales from Lord Krishna's life. Pichwai painting was originally drawn on fabric scroll to decorate the backdrop of Sreenathji deity in the temple of Nathdwara.
Celebrations such as Sharad Purnima, Raas Leela, Janmashtami with Radha, gopis, cows, lotuses, parrots, peacocks are commonly found themes painted with great splendour and artistic finesse. Traditional Pichwai art, swathed in deep-hued pigments and embellished with gold and silver, have found a place in the homes of art connoisseurs and art museums across the world.

We are pleased to announce an introduction to Pichwai folk art painting, a course of 2 classes, in which under the guidance of an expert artist, you will discover a sheer example of aesthetic balance and beauty.

In this workshop, you will learn 1. The background of Pichwai Paintings 2. Understand Pichwai themes, colors, motifs and nature elements. 3. Learn drawing Pichwai compositions that are loved by Lord Krishna. 4. Pichwai borders. 5. Make a beautiful Pichwai painting that you will be proud to hang on the wall.
* Class is suitable for beginners as well as one with painting experiences.

Materials Required
- 8 X 10 inches or 10 X 12 inches size white thick art paper for acrylic painting.
- Acrylic Colors - Artist quality acrylic - Lemon yellow, orange, red, white, black, blue any green, (optional colours are gold, violet and pink).
- Round brush- 0, 2 AND 4 size, Round or flat brush of 8, 10. Color palette/big plate, 2 mug Water.
- Black Gel Pen/ fineliner for outlining.
- Pencil, scale, erasers.
- Waste Cloth, tissue paper for cleaning.
- 2 or 3 extra plain paper for practice.
About The Artist:
Kamalrukh is a Chartered Accountant by qualification but has shifted her professional as a full-time artist. She has studied art courses from Sir J. J. School of Art and done art exhibitions at different galleries. Kamalrukh loves teaching her art to painting enthusiastic and have trained many for last 7 years. She is equally expert in various mediums like acrylic, oil painting and watercolor.
