  • Explore the 'Lost City', Indiana Jones style!

Visit one of the most famous UNESCO World Heritage - archaeological sites in the world - The Rose City of Petra , located amid rugged desert canyons and mountains. This incredible site gets the name Rose city owing to the colour of the sandstone there and boasts rock cut architecture. Legendary Petra was established as a trading post by the Nabateans, an Arab Bedouin tribe indigenous to the region, between the 3rd and 4th century B.C. Romans and the Byzantines later sought to leave their own marks on the city where large and ornate temples built by the Nabateans eventually gave way to Christian churches constructed by the Byzantines, who considered Petra the capital of the province of Palestine.

Walk through the narrow Siq (gorge), a long narrow fissure between two overhanging cliffs that will tease you with the view of the Petra Al-Khazneh temple (the main monument) at a few twists and turns. The entire structure can be viewed only when you walk out the Siq and will leave you awestruck by its beauty and size. From there you can proceed towards the Monastery. Please take note that one needs to be physically fit if is they want to walk up till the monastery. It takes about three hours to complete the climb to Monastery and return back. You can explore the museum, Royal Tombs, Theatre and the Street of Facades on the way to the Monastery. You can also rent a horse carriage, camel or donkey from the native Bedouin men to take you up till the Monastery. Return to the hotel after an adventurous day.

  • Dramatic desertscapes and sleeping under the stars

Get up to a rather relaxed day and enjoy a leisurely morning breakfast post which we will head to Little Petra . Little Petra stands as one of the most important sites. Being one of the oldest settlements in the world it has served as an agricultural suburb, trading center and resupply post for camel caravans that visited Petra. It also serves as a passageway to the Lost city of Petra through the Monastery.

From there we will go to Wadi Rum (Valley of sand) that adorns some of the most scenic desertscapes in world. The landscape found in Wadi Rum is simply breath-taking and will stay forever impressed in your memory. The moment you enter Wadi Rum it feels like you are on another planet. Wadi Rum has been inhabited for centuries by Nabataens and Bedouins who still live there today. Due to its uniqueness and historical importance Wadi Rum is declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the astonishing desert landscape on an adrenaline filled Desert Jeep Safari to natural rock bridges, red sand dunes, canyons, rock paintings and lots of great viewpoints including the location of film Lawrence of Arabia.

Stay in a rustic Bedouin camp and spend the evening with traditional Bedouin music, sweet Bedouin tea and traditional barbecue supper at the desert camp.

  • Sun, Sand, Gorgeous coral reefs in the sensational Red Sea

Post a sumptuous breakfast, leaving the desert behind, we will travel to the quaint city of Aqaba on the coastline of the Red Sea for a refreshing splash. Drive through the beautiful city center to the Aqaba castle and museum. Built by Mamluk sultan Qansweh Al Ghuri in the 14th century, the fort is located close to the Aqaba Flagpole which carries the flag of the Arab revolt of 1916 against the Ottomans. Visit the Aqaba Archaeological Museum, shortly built after the first World War once used to serve as the residence of Sharif Hussein Bin Ali, the founder of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

With its calm, crystal-clear waters and thriving, dazzling marine life, Aqaba has its legendary reputation as a world-class snorkelling site. In the afternoon, embark on Yachting on a Coral viewing cruise with barbeque lunch on-board in the crystal-clear water. You can leisurely enjoy blue ocean or opt for snorkelling at your own expenses to enjoy amazing view of well-preserved reefs teeming with marine life - coral gardens and colony of multicolour fish.

  • Floating in mud, salt and minerals

Proceed towards one of the most awaited part of the tour - The Dead Sea . Since the time of Herod the Great, people have flocked to the Dead Sea to discover its curative secrets. Due to high annual temperatures, low humidity, and high atmospheric pressure, the air has a high content of oxygen. With the highest content of minerals and salts in the world, the Dead Sea water is said to possess anti-inflammatory properties, and the mud found on the shores has been used for over 2000 years for therapeutic purposes.

Soak in its therapeutic waters, laze in the freshwater pool or take a mudbath. Spend rest of the day by the Dead sea and enjoy the mesmerizing sunset.

What do our members say

  • LOLITA ROY My husband Bijoy and I joined this group for our first trip with 50 + Voyagers to Sri Lanka. Well, to come to the point directly, we are so glad we found this traveller's club on FB ! Everything went as per plan and expectations, on our trip to Sri Lanka thanks to the untiring efforts and caring ways of the Tour Guide and Leader. Kudos to 50+ Voyagers for giving the elderly citizens, often single too, this avenue to travel and explore in conditions best suited to their age and stage in life. We wish 50+ the very best for the future. May that grow from strength to strength. Needless to say, we hope to join them on many more exciting and enjoyable trips in the future.
  • C Dutta Upadhyay Joined 50+ Voyagers for the Wild African Safari - Kenya tour recently with my wife Venu. Excellent experience, well organised and suitably tailored for senior citizens. Enthusiasm of the group members was contagious!! Looking forward to similar experience in the forth coming Bhutan visit!!
  • Anjana Nair My mom went on the recent trip to Bhutan in Oct and hasn't been able to stop raving about it.. we were all sceptical if she'd be able to enjoy with a group of unknown strangers and also travel much since she has knee trouble but the end experience was wonderful to say the least! She has come back with child like glee on the fun she had with the group and of exploring beautiful Bhutan.. I would strongly recommend this to all those above 50 who have a passion for travelling and believe there is no age limit to having fun and discovering the world! Great going team 50+ voyagers .. I'm sure my mum is looking forward to her next trip already!
  • Usha Archana This club gave me one of my best holidays with the recent Rajasthan Trip. It was a great experience traveling with people of ages 52 - 82, who came from different corners of India. Most of us were meeting each other for the first time in our lives, yet, by the end of the tour, it felt like we were all from one family. The club offers a wonderful opportunity for like-minded senior citizens to holiday together safely, comfortably and enjoyably at a reasonable cost!
  • RANJI KURUVILA Enjoyed the Ladakh trip immensely. The visit points were wisely chosen, the whole tour was well paced and all the arrangements were very nicely organised by 50+ Voyagers. Will definitely recommend you to my friends and will join you on another trip sometime next year. Congratulations and a big thank you.
  • Surajit Dutta, Kolkata In past we had travelled with other internationally reputed Tour companies. But our Bhutan tour with 50+ Voyagers was an outstanding and most enjoyable we ever had. Starting from friendly and ever smiling Tour manager who took charge at Kolkata airport and entertained us all along. The hotels booked were at excellent locations, spacious , very well appointed , friendly staff. The best part of the tour planning was we were always given a kind of leisure time and no hurry hurry to hop on to bus. for next program - perfectly designed for 50 + Voyagers. Entertainment was well planned with evening meal at exclusive restaurants and even visit to GPO where some of us got Bhutan Post Stamps issued with their picture posted cards to near and dear ones. Overall it was a very entertaining and relaxing tour.
